Door Decor

As teachers, we tend to have a very heavy work load and never-ending to-do list. Since I often feel like I can't keep up with everything, one of the ways I try to make things easier is to include my scholars in helping with responsibilities around the classroom. And that's not limited to just classroom jobs.

I've started including my scholars in making the door decoration, and I couldn't love it more. I love how excited my scholars get in taking ownership in their classroom. Additionally, I love how the doors turn out.

And it's couldn't be easier. I let a small group volunteer, and they search the internet for a door they want to do. Once I approve, I give them complete freedom to make to door. Usually, the only help they need from me is putting the background up. I keep construction paper, scissors, and glue in the community supplies, which they have complete access to. I always love how they turn out!

I've done this for about a year now, and the scholars have always picked an idea they find online. But I'm excited that I have a scholars who thought of her own idea. I love when they are inspired! I can't wait to see how her idea turns out!
